The Law Society presented Michael Geoffrey Johnston with a law license in 2000.

The Legal Practice Tribunal found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in professional misconduct
• Improperly withdrew $6,000 from trust account as fees
• Breached rules by withdrawing $24,000 from trust account as payment to third party
• Lied in correspondence to ethics investigators (Up yours, said Mike!)
• Delayed depositing $4,000 in client settlement funds into client trust account
• Failed to render accounting to client
• Improperly paid himself $91 he was not entitled too
• Failed to operate trust account in professional manner

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Queensland Bar punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and a $4,000 fine.
