Attorney Ben Caughey of Indianapolis; convicted drunk

The state of Indiana provided Ben Tyler Caughey with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from Indiana University Law School.

The Indiana Disciplinary Commission found Benny guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Benny pled guilty to Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person with a Prior Conviction Within Five Years, a Level 6 felony. Since said time, Benny violated his probation on at least two occasions by consuming alcohol.

After Benny’s first violation, the trial court continued his probation with certain added conditions (required to attend Mel Gibson Institute for Boozers located in Hollywood).  After second violation, trial court revoked Benny’s probation and sentenced him to five days in jail.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Benny by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. November 2016), Benny practices with Mercho Caughey & Delay at 828 East 64th Street in Indianapolis, Indiana.
