Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels: Today’s “Hyperbole” (BS) Award Winner Congratulations to….
Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels
Today’s “Hyperbole”(BS) Award Winner
While trolling for support in Cincinnati in regards to his presidential aspirations, Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels figured it was time to hitch onto Wis. Gov. Scott Walker’s Train in going after unions and public employees.
In response to Gov. Walker’s rant “All-Aboard,” Gov Daniels called public unions “privileged elite” at the Cincinnati GOP dinner.
Hmmm, elite ya say Gov? I wonder how many of these “elite” public employees were or are financially able to attend or send their children to Princeton or Georgetown University. That’s where the “underprivileged” Gov. Daniels attended school.
It is indeed absurd for Daniels to claim that destroying public unions is the best way to balance state budgets. This is the same Dufus that was nominated by President Bush as Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) from 2001 to 2003.
Mitch the Dufus was responsible for forecasting that the Iraq war would cost $50 to $60 billion. As we all know now the cost is at least $1 trillion, which is just a tad over $60 billion, right?
More importantly, when Daniels became OMB Director, the federal budget was in balance. That certainly wasn’t the case during his tenure, right?
And this certified Dufus has the chutzpah to claim that public employees are the “new elite” and if we could just outlaw public employee unions, we’d have no more deficits. What a loser!
