The state of Arkansas presented Patricia J. Maddox-Cook with a law license in 1992 after she graduated from the University of Missouri Law School.

 

The Committee on Professional found Patty guilty of the following misconduct.

 

As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Patty by gifting her with a complimentary caution.

 

Patty’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to include into original divorce decree provision restoring client’s use of her maiden name
  • Failed to provide competent representation (Moron)
  • Prepared admittedly false divorce decree
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation

As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Patty by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Patty’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to deposit client funds in identifiable trust account
  • Failed to promptly notify client of receipt of client funds
  • Knowingly disobeyed obligation under rules of a tribunal
  • Engaged in the illegal practice of law while license suspended
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Patty!)
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation

As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Patty by gifting her with a complimentary 18-month suspension of her law license.
