Attorney Weldon Brady of Fort Worth; check bouncing

The state of Texas presented Weldon W. Brady with a law license in 1963 after he graduated from the University of Texas Law School.

The District Grievance Committee found Weldon guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Borrowed money from client in advance of settlement of personal injury case
  • Wrote check to client on insufficient funds (rubber)

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Weldon by gifting him with a stayed complimentary 18-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Texas Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Weldon.

Because Attorney Misfits in Texas are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Weldon was never criminally charged with writing bad checks.

As we speak (ca. September 2016), Weldon practices in Fort Worth, Texas.
