Attorney Joseph Burden of New York City; lying loser

The state of New York presented Joseph Peter Burden with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from the University of Buffalo Law School.

The Appellate Division Disciplinary Panel found Joey guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflected on fitness as a lawyer
  • Abused trial subpoenas issued in action pending in housing court
  • Sanctioned $1,000 by trial court for subpoena abuse
  • Falsely affirmed that subpoenaed documents were sent to him w/o solicitation or suggestion

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Appellate Division Disciplinary Panel punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary 3-month suspension of his law license.

Because Attorney Misfits in New York are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Tony was never criminally charged with perjury.

As we speak (ca. August 2016), Joey practices with Belkin Burden Wenig & Goldman LLP at 270 Madison Avenue in New York, New York.
