American Bar Assn Sample Ethics Question
The following ethics question has been approved by the ABA Ethics Panel for inclusion on all future state bar examinations.
Facts
- As a result of a consultation with a client, an attorney advises her that the fee will be $100
- The client reaches into her purse and hands the attorney what she believes is a crisp $100 bill
- Shortly after the client leaves, the attorney realizes that there was two (2) $100 bills that
 were stuck together
The ethical question/dilemma is:
- Does the attorney have to tell his partner about the extra $100 bill?
