Court Commissioner Douglas Anderson of Ephrata, WA; favoritism

The state of Washington presented Douglas G. Anderson with a law license in 1991 after she graduated from the State University of New York (SUNY) Law School.

The Washington Commission on Judicial Conduct found Doug guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Knowingly created the appearance of bias in favor of a litigant
  • Met privately with litigant’s father, retired superior court judge
  • Failed to disclose contact with litigant’s father with opposing counsel
  • Allowed retired judge to make and argue motion during hearing despite the fact that he was neither a license attorney nor a party to the proceeding
  • Granted the father’s motion to void a valid superior court judge order that he absolutely knew that he had no legal authority to void
  • Created the appearance of favoritism and nepotism

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Doug by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. August 2016), Doug continues at 915 Basin Street SW in Ephrata, Washington.
