Attorney Richard Corcoran of Ebensburg, PA; thief, serial liar

The state of Pennsylvania presented Richard M. Corcoran with a law license in 1995.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Misappropriated (stole) client funds
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to advise numerous clients of status of their legal matters
  • Failed to pay $14,000 to opposing counsel in divorce matter
  • Neglected client legal matters
  • Failed to file required certification with trial court that appeal had been dismissed
  • Failed to file required docketing statement on client’s behalf
  • Repeatedly made misrepresentations (lied) to his clients
  • Engaged in illegal practice of law while license inactive
  • Failed to pay $3,000 as agreed to client’s wife for medical bills she incurred when he assaulted her
  • Filed false certification with Disciplinary Board
  • Failure to file required docketing statement led to client’s appeal being dismissed
  • Failed to pay funds to Mercer County for Master’s fees as ordered by court
  • Lied to client’s wife he didn’t receive $3,000 to pay her medical bills
  • Failed to advise client in divorce matter what fee he would be charging her
  • Filed motion for reconsideration after time had passed to so act
  • Failed to notify client her appeal had been dismissed due to his negligence

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Dick’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary admonition for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting hi, with a complimentary 5-year suspension of his law license.

Because Attorney Misfits in Pennsylvania are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Dick was never criminally charged with grand larceny.

As we speak (ca. September 2016), Dick practices in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania.
