Barrister Peter Jefferies of New Zealand; imbecilic loser

The Law Society of New Zealand presented Peter Joseph Jefferies with a law license in 2001.

The found New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal found Pete guilty of the following misconduct.

• Serious failures in meeting professional obligations
• Engaged in unsatisfactory conduct
• Serious failures in meeting trust account obligations
• Failed to obtain prior informed consent of the parties re: conflict of interest
• Failed to inform his clients he could no long act for them
• Failed to communicate with clients
• Conduct fell short of standard of competence (imbecile)
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

As a consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Zealand Disciplinary Tribunal punished Pete by gifting him with a complimentary censure and a $10,000 fine.
