Attorney Richard Goff of Denver; imbecile, serial offender

The state of Colorado provided Richard James Goff with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from the University of Denver Law School.

The Colorado State Bar found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

Dick’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Pursued and defended frivolous (BS) lawsuit
• Failed to provide competent representation (imbecile)

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary 9-month suspension of his law license.

Dick’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to interview prosecution’s expert witnesses
• Failed to interview witnesses who could have been helpful to client
• Failed to prepare client for polygraph test
• Failed to advise client polygraph test could be given by independent examiner rather than someone employed by the prosecutor’s office
• Failed to advise client answers given prior to polygraph test were admissible against her
• Provided false facts to trial court in various motions to continue trial date
• Waived jury trial w/o advising client of consequences regarding appellate issues if she lost
• Failed to provide competent representation (imbecile)

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary20-month suspension of his law license.

Dick’s 3^rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Recklessly failed to memorialize terms of agreement in writing
• Recklessly failed to include necessary information in petition for reinstatement filed in the U.S. District Court, District of Colorado
• Misconduct caused potential injury to administration of justice
• Failed to state basis or rate of his fee in writing as required
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 3-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Dick even though it was his third bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree.

Dick’s 4^th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to advise client he could appeal magistrates order for bench warrant
• Negligence led to client being arrested in divorce/parental rights matter
• Failed to respond to pending motions in client divorce case
• Failed to provide client with copy of opposing counsel’s motion to modify parenting time
• Failed to comply with court order to file mandatory financial disclosure
• Failed to comply with court order to set up a settlement conference
• Failed to respond to several pending motions filed by opposing counsel
• Negligence led to entry of $18,400 judgment against client
• Failed to timely file request for review of $18,400 judgment
• Lied to court about total amount of his fees
• Withdrew client representation and then filed motion for fees against the client

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

Again we have the comedians and dyed-in-the-wool apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court failing to mete out any meaningful punishment to Dick the Serial Offender.

Is there any wonder why the citizens of Colorado and elsewhere have total contempt for the manner in which Attorney Misfits are held accountable for engaging in egregious misconduct?
