Barrister Donald Bruce of New Zealand; repeat offender

The Law Society of New Zealand presented Donald Bruce Thomas with a law license in 1970.

The found New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal found Donnie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in the reckless breach of Rules of Professional Conduct
  • Improper use of family trust funds
  • Released trust funds w/o authorization of one of the trustees

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Donnie’s First bite at the Barrister Misfit Apple Tree. He was previously disciplined for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Zealand Disciplinary Tribunal punished Donnie by gifting him with a complimentary censure. He was also ordered to pay costs and compensation of $15,906.

As we speak (ca. June 2016), Donnie practices with Thomas & Co. at 3 Totara Avenue in Auckland, New Zealand.
