► Federal Judge Herman Weber – Ohio’s Best Paid Judge? |
Federal Judge Herman Weber – Ohio’s Best Paid Judge Judge Herman Weber was appointed to the federal bench in Columbus, Ohio by Ronald Reagan in 1985 at the age of 58 (DOB: 1927). For the lion’s share of his adult life, Judge Weber has dedicated his career to porking out at the public trough (ca: 1955-2011).
Even though he could have retired in 2000 at age 73 and received an annual federal pension of $141,300, Judge Weber decided to retain his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough. In January 2002, Judge Weber went on senior status, meaning he continued to receive 100% of a sitting federal judge’s salary even though he was only required to work ten (10) hours a week.
From 2009 through 2003, Judge Weber’s annual income is as follows:
In 2006, Chief Justice Roberts had the chutzpah to state the issue of federal judicial pay “has now reached the level of a constitutional crisis” in demanding that annual salaries be increased by at least 30%.
Was Chief Justice Roberts lamenting the fact that Judge Weber was only earning about $500,000 a year in 2006 for working a mere ten hours a week? What a Gig!!
Let’s take a minute and compare Weber’s annual income to other judges in Ohio.
And lastly, the average median household income in Franklin County (Columbus) in 2009 was $47,416, meaning that Judge Weber earns ten (10) times as much. Isn’t Ohio a great country?
Seems to me that Judge Weber is just a greedy ingrate who is unable to disengage his significant snout from the public trough! |
