Barrister Jane Stevenson of New Zealand; ethical misfit

The Law Society of New Zealand presented Jane Maree Stevenson with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from Victoria University of Wellington Law School. 

The found New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal found Jane guilty of the following misconduct.

• Conduct amounted to unsatisfactory conduct by a significant margin
• Breached an undertaking
• Lacks ability to understand significance of professional obligations
• Improperly paid client $12,000 out of marital assets
• Failed to appreciate seriousness of her actions

As a consequence of her misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Zealand Disciplinary Tribunal punished Jane by gifting her with a complimentary censure.
