Attorney Donald Denton of Richmond, VA; ethical gremlin

The state of Virginia presented Donald Arnold Denton with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from the University of Richmond Law School.

The Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board found Donnie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to appear for hearing on client’s behalf in child custody case
  • Failed to obtain permission from court to withdraw representation
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Found guilty of criminal contempt
  • Intentionally failed to carry out contract of employment
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Failed to deposit funds intact to a trust account
  • Knowingly disobeyed a ruling made by a tribunal
  • Committed a crime or deliberately wrongful act

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Virginia Bar Disciplinary Board punished Donnie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. February 2016), Donnie practices at 4702 Wistar Road in Richmond, Virginia.
