Attorney Richard Sanders of Tacoma, WA; ethical dwarf
The state of Washington presented Richard B. Sanders with a law license in 1969 after he
graduated
from the University of Washington Law School.
Dick’s misconduct took place while she was sitting as a judge for the Grant County Superior
Court in Ephrata, Washington. That misconduct led the Judicial Commission to find Carmel guilty
of the following misconduct.
In one matter, Dick found it acceptable to violate the Code of Judicial Conduct by visiting and then
speaking with inmates at a facility for violent sexual predators, some of whom did or were likely to
appear in his courtroom. Put simply, Dick was involved in an egregious conflict of interest.
In addition, Dick’s conversations with convicted sexual predators violated the rules against ex parte
(one-sided) communications.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington
State Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.
As we speak (ca. February 2016), Dick practices with the Goodstein Law Group at 5 01 South G
Street in Tacoma, Washington.
