Solicitor Deborah Banwell of New South Wales; ethical misfit

The Law Society presented Deborah Ruth Banwell with a law license in 1997.

The Office of the Legal Services Commissioner found Debbie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to ascertain nature of orders made
  • Continued to act for client when she ought not to have done so
  • Breach New South Wales Barristers’ Rule 80
  • Engaged in unsatisfactory professional conduct
  • Inadvertently misled (lied) to Bar Council

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Legal Service Commission punished Debbie by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. January 2016), Debbie practices with Voith Turbo Ltd. at 1-47 Percival Road in Smithfield, New South Wales.
