Attorney Joel Zimmerman of Tinley Park, IL; ethical leprechaun

The state of Illinois presented Joel Craig Zimmerman with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law.

The Illinois Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Joel guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Joel represented a husband in a dissolution of marriage proceeding and received funds on behalf of both the husband and the wife. After a judge determined the parties’ relative entitlement to those funds, Joel paid the wife, but the payment of the check by the bank resulted in an overdraft in his lawyer trust account.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Joel by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (February 2016), Joel practices with Joel C. Zimmerman & Associates Ltd. at 18400 Maple Creek Drive in Tinley Park, Illinois.
