Attorney John Scieszinski of Des Moines; serial offender

 

The state of Iowa presented John J. Scieszinski with a law license in 1978 after he graduated from Creighton University Law School.

 

The Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Johnny’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up Yours, said Johnny!)
  • Egregious neglect of professional duties

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Johnny’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to timely make filings in several probate matters
  • Neglected legal matters entrusted to him
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up Yours, said Johnny!)
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a second complimentary reprimand.

 

Johnny’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up Yours, said Johnny!)
  • Failed to refund unearned retainer (cheater)

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a third complimentary reprimand.

 

Johnny’s 4th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Neglected an estate matter
  • Failed to withdraw from estate matter when withdrawal mandatory
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up Yours, said Johnny!)
  • Failed to appear at court scheduled hearings

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a fourth complimentary reprimand.

 

As we speak (ca. January 2016), Johnny practices with the Scieszinski Law Office at 1135 Army Post Road in Des Moines, Iowa.
