Attorney David Reeve of Murray, UT; ethical gremlin

The state of Utah presented David A. Reeve with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Brigham Young University Law School.

The Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Utah Supreme found Dave guilty of the following misconduct.

• Violated or attempted to violate rules of conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Failed to timely repay loan obtained from client

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished Dave by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 6-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Utah Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Dave.
