► U.S. Judge Lynn Hughes Houston; bigot, lifetime porker

The state of Texas presented Lynn Nettleton Hughes with a law license in 1966 after he graduated from the University of Texas Law School.

Former President Ronald Reagan was duped into appointing Lynn to a seat on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas in 1985. Sanjay didn’t get the appointment because he was the most qualified lawyer in the greater Houston area. He got it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

Lynnhas had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past thirty-seven years (1979 to 2016). Apparently, no respectable law firm in the Houston area was about to offer Lynn a good paying job.

In one matter, Lynn presided over the case of Albert Autry who alleged that the job he applied for in a facilities department at a school district was given to less-qualified white woman.

Mr. Autry said when he applied for the job, the facilities manager commented that Barack Obama would ruin the country if were elected president. An employee at the school said that Mr. Autry went further when he said:

  • “If Obama’s elected they’re going to have to take the Statute of Liberty and put a piece of fried chicken in its hand.”

The school district challenged the employees comment as hearsay; however Judge Hughes dismissed it as political speech. He then went on to say:

  • “No black individually and no blacks collectively own the sensitivity rights to fried chicken or anything else.”

This comment led Autry’s attorney to assert that the reference to fried chicken was “a long-standing racial slur.” Judge Hughes responded by saying:

“That’s really surprising to Colonel Sanders.”

Judge Hughes then dismissed Autry’s case and ordered that he pay the attorney fees incurred by the school district.

Subsequently, the case found its way before the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. The dismissal was upheld but the award of fees was reversed. The Court ruled that that Autry’s lawsuit was not frivolous or without foundation.

As we speak (ca. April 2016) Hughes continues to sit as a U.S. District Court judge in Houston, Texas.
