Justice David Lewis of Dallas; drunken loser

The state of Texas presented David B. Lewis with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from Baylor University Law School.

The Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct found Dave guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Dave admitted that he was a confirmed drunk. However, he laughingly claimed that he was never drunk or under the influence when involved in hearing arguments or deciding cases on the Court of Appeals. Clearly, Dave missed his calling as a standup comedian.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Dave by gifting him with a complimentary six-month suspension from the bench.

As part of his so-called punishment, Dave the Drunk agreed to attend and complete an alcohol treatment program. It is rumored that Dave opted to enroll in the Mel Gibson Institute for Drunks located in Hollywood, California.

As we speak (ca. November 2015), Dave the Drunk will ascend to the bench again as a Fifth District Court of Appeals justice in early April 2016.
