Sr. Judge Edward Bearse of Anoka, MN; ethical misfit

The state of Minnesota presented Edward W. Bearse with a law license in 1970 after he graduated from Texas Southern University Law School.

The Minnesota Board on Judicial Standards found Judge Bearse guilty of the following misconduct.

After sucking on the public tit for 32 years (1974 to 2006), Bearse retired and then became a senior retired judge, meaning he was assigned by the Chief Justice to hear various cases.

In one matter, Eddy decided to comment via Facebook on a sex trafficking trial. In his message, Eddy said:

  • I just love doing the stress of jury trials.” the judge wrote.
  • “In a Felony trial now State prosecuting pimp.”
  • “Cases are always difficult because the women (as in this case also) will not cooperate.”
  • “We will see what the 12 citizens in the jury box will do.”

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Standards Commission punished Eddy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2015), Eddy continues to receive judicial assignments from the Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court.
