Magistrate Valerie Pool of London, UK; ethical leprechaun

The Judicial Conduct Investigative Office found Magistrate Pool guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Valeria abused her status as a magistrate by sending letter to the Fines and Enforcement Office on behalf of an individual who had failed to pay a fine. In her letter, she specifically noted that she was a magistrate who sat on the Fines Enforcement Panel.

In another matter, Valerie acted improperly in attending the court in which she regularly sits to support the same individual in his case regarding the unpaid fine. At the time, she failed to disclose her relationship to her Bench Chair of Justices’ Clerk that she had been involved in fine enforcement proceedings.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits at the Judicial Conduct Office punished Valerie by gifting her with a complimentary formal warning.

As we speak (ca. October 2015), Valerie continues to sit as an appointed magistrate to the Surrey and Sussex Bench in London, England.
