Attorney Amy Mitchell of Olathe, KS; Dumbo

The sate of Kansas presented Amy Rachelle Mitchell with a law license in 1999 after she graduated from the University of Kansas Law School.

The Kansas Board for Discipline of Attorneys found Amy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to provide competence representation (Dumbo)
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to communicate with client
• Failed to keep client informed about status of legal matter
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Amy!)

As a consequence of her misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Kansas Supreme Court punished Amy by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of her law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Kansas Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Amy.
