Attorney John Steele of Chicago; shakedown artist

The state of Illinois presented John Lawrence Steel with a law license in 2007 after he graduated from the University of Minnesota.

The Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission has charged Johnny with engaging in the following misconduct.

• 8 counts of engaging in conduct involving fraud and dishonesty
• Sent “shakedown letters” to thousands in hopes of settling their cases involving the illegal downloading of porn
• Threatened public exposure via filing of lawsuit of folks downloading porn with penalties of $150,000 if they didn’t settle by paying him $4,000
• Used shell companies to conduct discovery
• Lied to judges re: how financial interests in cases using copyrights he owned
• Court ordered Johnny to pay $80,000 for his “brazen misconduct and relentless fraud”
• Attorney sued Johnny for forging his name and won $250,000 judgment

All that’s left now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Johnny by the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court.
