Judge C. Kimi Kondo of Seattle; ethical misfit

The state of Washington presented C. Kimi Kondo with a law license in 1977 after she graduated from the University of Puget Sound Law School.

Kimi has had her significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the last twenty-nine (29) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the Seattle area was about to offer Kimi a good paying job.

The Washington Commission on Judicial Conduct found Kimi guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in illegal ex parte (one-sided) communications with prosecutor
  • Created an appearance of bias in favor of prosecution
  • Prosecutor advised Kimi about his need to have a lawyer as a witness in a pending criminal case
  • Kimi continued a matter in an unrelated case in front of her without any basis to so act other than to require appearance of lawyer in favor of prosecutor

As a consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Kimi by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. August 2015), Kimi continues to sit a Seattle Municipal Court Judge in Seattle, Washington.
