Attorney Thomas Barnes of Evanston, WY; convicted felon

The state of Wyoming presented Thomas E. Barnes with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from the University of Wyoming Law School.

The Board of Professional Responsibility found Tommy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Falsified documents for purpose of defrauding tax authorities on purchase price of Harley Davidson motorcycle
• Intentionally falsified sales documents relating to Harley motorcycle
• Tax fraud led Tommy to pay $40 in sales taxes vs. $833 he actually owed
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Provided false documents to Lincoln County Treasure to reduce fees of $1,241.86 to $313.43 due to the County
• Pleaded guilty one felony count of forgery

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wyoming Supreme Court punished Tommy by gifting him by ordering he be disbarred.

In a lame attempt at levity, the comedians sitting on the Wyoming Supreme Court had the chutzpah to reinstate Tommy the Felon’s law license in early 2015.
