U.S. Judge John McConnell Jr. of Rhode Island; incompetent loser

The state of Rhode Island presented John J. McConnell Jr. with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from Case Western University Law School in Cleveland, Ohio.

President Obama appointed Fuste as Judge to the U.S. District Court of Rhode Island. Johnny didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in Rhode Island. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

In one matter, Johnny was assigned to oversee grand jury proceedings involving the Narragansett Tribe and a subpoena issued by said grand jury. Over the course of the next several months the state and the tribe attempted to resolve their differences in regards to the grand jury subpoena; however, said attempts bore no fruit.

Several months after the grand jury’s term ended and a new grand jury was formed, Judge McConnell found the tribe in contempt of court for failing to comply with a subpoena issued by a defunct grand jury.

The tribe subsequently appealed his contempt ruling, which the Court of Appeals promptly reversed by holding in part:

• “A subpoena was unenforceable after the expiration of the issuing grand jury.”

The Court of Appeals went on to cite a U.S. Supreme Court ruing in support of its findings and also legislation on the specific issue passed by Congress.

Despite Surpeme Court rulings and Congress’ passing of legislation, Johnny the Dumbo lacked the legal acumen and competence to follow well settled law.

Johnny’s conduct resulted in the taxpayers to funding his incompetence regarding the laws and statutes regarding issuance of contempt citation when a grand jury’s term has expired.

This is exactly the kind of Judicial Moron you get when a presidential appointment is made merely for political considerations without any concern for the appointees legal knowledge and/or competence.

As we speak (ca. august 2015), Johnny the Dufus continues to sit as a U.S. District Court judge in Rhode Island.
