U.S. Judge Jose Fuste of Puerto Rico; incompetent boob

The District of Puerto Rico presented Jose A. Fuste with a law license in 1968 after he graduated from the University of Puerto Rico Law School.

Former President Ronald Reagan appointed Fuste as Judge to the U.S. District Court in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1984. Fuste didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in Puerto Rico. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

In early 2013, Judge Fuste was assigned to preside over a criminal matter. Subsequently, Fuste sentenced the man to a 36-month term in prison. Subsequently, the defendant appealed the sentence the Circuit Court of Appeals.

In its decision, the Court of Appeals ruled that Fuste had committed plain error in his imposition of the 36-month prison sentence. It then ordered the case remanded back to Fuste for resentencing.

Unfortunately for the taxpayers, Fuste apparently lacks the legal acumen to appreciate and/or understand the federal sentencing laws.

Of course Jose the Dufus doesn’t much give a damn about following the law and/or being reversed. He knows that no federal judge has ever been tossed off the bench for being a Certified Moron.

As we speak (ca. august 2015), Jose continues to sit as a U.S. District Court judge in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
