Solicitor Sean Acton of Ballinrobe, Ireland; ethical goblin

The Irish Solicitors’ Discipline Tribunal found Sean guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Intentionally misled Law Society in attempt to cover up a scam with lies
  • Devised sophisticated scheme of opening special bank accounts in clients’ names that remained under Sean’s control
  • Ethics investigator expressed disbelief at Sean’s defense
  • Ethics investigators said Sean attempted to “pull the wool over the eyes of the Law Society” by providing supporting affidavits from client that were questionable as to their authenticity

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Discipline Tribunal punished Sean by gifting him with a complimentary censure a fine of 25,000 Euros ($27,443 US Dollars).

As we speak (ca. July 2015), Mike practices at Glebe Street, Ballinrobe, County Mayo, Ireland.
