Judge Timothy Creany of Ebensburg, PA; apologist for crooked lawyer

The state of Pennsylvania presented Timothy Creany with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from the Dickinson School of Law.

It should be note that Timmy has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past thirty years (1986 to 2016). Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Cambria County area was about to offer him a good paying job.

In 1992, former Gov. Robert Casey was duped into appointing Timmy as a Cambria County Common Pleas Court judge. Timmy didn’t get the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Cambria County area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.  

In one matter, the Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found attorney Richard Corcoran guilty of an assortment of egregious misconduct, some of which included misappropriating (stealing) client funds, gross negligence and repeatedly lying to ethics investigators and his clients. Subsequently, Corcoran’s law license was suspended for five (5) years, which meant that he would have to apply to have his law license reinstated after the suspension concluded.

The cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court granted Corcoran’s application to reinstate his law license. Apparently, they believed he had a constitutional right to earn a dishonest living practicing law.

During the application process, Judge Creany had the chutzpah to provide a statement in support of Corcoran’s reinstatement. In his statement, Timmy laughingly said:

• He’s intelligent, good writer, pleasant to work with
• He should be given another chance to practice law

Do you think that Judge Creany will warn any future Corcoran clients that he’s a serial thief and liar if he appears in the Cambria County Court of Common Pleas?

As we speak (ca. September 2016), Judge Creany continues to sit as a Cambria County Common Pleas Court judge in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania.
