Attorney George Babcock of Pawtucket; ethical leprechaun

The state of Rhode Island provided George E. Babcock with a law license in 1987.

The Statewide Grievance Committee found George guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was practicing before the local bankruptcy court.

  • Falsely claimed that documents were electronically signed by his client
  • Failed to have original signatures on court documents as required
  • Engaged in pattern of not having original signatures in his files for documents bearing purported electronic signatures of debtors
  • Prepared bankruptcy schedules that failed to disclose client’s pending civil lawsuit that George had personally filed
  • Failed to disclose client’s interest in Florida real estate
  • Assisted in transfer of clients’ corporate assets to client’s relatives
  • Failed to satisfy notice requirements mandated by bankruptcy code

As a consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Rhode Island Supreme Court punished George by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. June 2015) George practices at 574 Central Avenue in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
