Attorney George Woodcock Jr. of Mt. Carmel, IL; greedy loser

The state of Illinois presented George W. Woodcock Jr. with a law license in 1958.

The Disciplinary Commission found George guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, after representing a client for two years in a complicated breach of contract claim, George found it acceptable to threaten to withdraw from the matter before the scheduled trial unless the client agreed to enter into a new fee agreement.

The new fee agreement allowed George to receive a fee in excess of $800,000.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished George by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2015), George practices with the Law Offices of George W. Woodcock at 120 East Fifth Street in Mr. Carmel, Illinois.
