Attorney Margaret McAuley of Victoria, AUS; ethical gremlin

The Victorian Law Society presented Margaret Lorraine McAuley with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Dalhousie University Law School.

The Victorian Civil & Administrative Tribunal found Margie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Received trust monies without a principal of the law firm holding the required Australian practicing certificate authorizing the receipt of trust money
• Failed to use best endeavors to obtain opinion of senior counsel regarding client’s personal injury claim and client had requested
• Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Margie!)

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Victorian Civil & Administrative Tribunal punished Margie by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. June 2015), Margie practices at 2 75 Bay Street in Brighton, Victoria, Australia.
