Attorney Jay Powell of Tucson; ethical gremlin

The state of Arizona presented Jay K. Powell with a law license in 2003 after he graduated from the University of Arizona Law School.

The Arizona State Bar found Jay guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Failed to abide by client requests
  • Failed to respond to verbal and written requests to settle client’s case
  • Bad faith obstruction of disciplinary process (Up yours, said Jay!)
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Jay by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2015) Jay practices with The Powell Law Firm PLLC in Tucson, Arizona.

Warning: Jay does not carry legal malpractice insurance
