Attorney Alysia La Counte of Madison, WI; ethical gremlin 

The state of Wisconsin presented Alysia E. La Counte with a law license in 1992 after she graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Alysia guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to properly supervise subordinate attorney while representing Indian tribe
• Falsely advertised that husband attorney was partner/associate of Alysia’s firm
• Violated or attempted to violate rules of professional conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
• Improperly split fees with attorney not associated with Alysia’s firm
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, dishonest, deceit and/or misrepresentation
• Failed to comply with tribe’s requests for full accounting of advance fees and costs paid to Alysia and her firm
• Engaged in a conflict of interest

As a consequence of her misconduct, the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Alysia by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.
