US Judge Robert Bryan of Seattle; incompetent boob

The state of California presented Robert Jensen Bryan with a law license in 1958 after he graduated from the University of Washington Law School.

Former President Reagan was duped into appointing Bryan as a District Court Judge in 1986 even though he wasn’t the most qualified attorney in the Seattle area. Bryan received his appointment because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

In one matter, Judge Bryan was assigned to hear a case of a claimant’s challenge to the Social Security Administration’s denial of the claimant’s request for a hearing on her application for social security disability benefits. Judge Bryan then went about dismissing the claim for lack of subject matter jurisdiction.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals reversed Bryan’s absurd decision in upholding a ruling by an Administrative law judge by saying in part:

The administrative law judge failed to consider whether claimant’s facially valid reasons constituted good cause excusing the delay in her request for a hearing.

The claimant was thereby deprived of her due process right to a meaningful opportunity to be heard and to seek reconsideration of an adverse benefits determination.

How long does one have to attend law school to understand and appreciate the meaning of the term “due process?” Apparently, Bryan believes “due process’ is the means by which the grass becomes “moist” in the am.

Unfortunately, the taxpayers are forced to pay for this type of gross incompetence. In fact, Bryan can never be sanctioned or disciplined no matter how many times he issues rulings that fly in the face of well-settled law.

It should be noted that Bryan took on Senior Status in 2000, which means he is only required to work ten (10) hours-a-week while being paid a full yearly salary of $199.000.

As we speak (cs. April 2015), Bryan continues to sit as a senior US District Court Judge in Seattle, Washington.
