Attorney Daniel Casias of Pueblo, CO; ethical dwarf

The state of Colorado provided Daniel R. Casias with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from the University of Colorado Law School.

The Colorado State Bar found Danny guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, after he accepted an appointment to represent an indigent defendant, Danny discussed with his client the prospect of converting to private representation.

Subsequently, Danny accepted a $5,000 retainer from the client, to whom he made statements implying that private representation would be superior to public representation.

In other words, Danny duped the client into believing that he would provide superior representation if he was paid a higher rate than what the Public Defender’s Office pays to represent indigent defendants.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Danny by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. April 2015), Danny practices at 1225 North Grand Avenue in Pueblo, Colorado.
