Attorney Brett Glass of Boulder, CO; ethical gremlin

The state of Colorado provided Brett Wesley Glass with a law license in 1987.

The Colorado State Bar found Brett guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was the elected District Attorney for the Third Judicial District.

In one matter, Brett represented a client in a dispute regarding the estate of the client’s father. Glass received a final distribution of estate funds on the client’s behalf and then paid those funds to the client.

The following month, Brett contacted the client to request a loan, because he knew the client had just received the estate distribution. The client made two loans to Brett totaling $7,000.

Thereafter, the client had a difficult time contacting Brett, and Brett did not repay the loan promptly, as he had promised to do.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Brett by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 30-day suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Brett.

As we speak (ca. April 2015), Brett practices with Glass & Associates in Boulder, Colorado.
