Attorney John Cawley of Salt Lake City; ethical dwarf

The state of Utah presented John E. Cawley with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from Brigham Young University Law School.

The Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Utah Supreme Court found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to provide competent representation (Moron)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct by assisting or inducing another to do so or through the acts of another
  • Failed to file complaint on client’s behalf for over one year
  • Failed to respond to numerous letters from client
  • Actions caused potential and actual damages to be suffered by his client

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. March 2015), Johnny practices at 311 South State Street in Salt Lake City, Utah.
