Attorney David Black of Salt Lake City; ethical gremlin

The state of Utah presented David O. Black with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the University of Utah Law School.

The Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Utah Supreme Court found David guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to provide competent services (Moron)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct by assisting or inducing another to do so or through the acts of another
  • Promised to bill client $150 per hour but then billed her $275 per hour

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished David by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. April 2015), David practices with Black and Argyle PC at 5806 South 900 East in Salt Lake City, Utah.
