Attorney Hattie Boyce of Spartanburg, SC; repeat offender 

 

The State of South Carolina presented Hattie Darlene Evans Royce with a law license in 1986 after she graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School.

 

Disciplinary Counsel of the South Carolina Supreme Court found Hattie guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Hattie’s 1stbite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 

  • Improperly revealed client information with client consent
  • Threatened to present criminal charges solely to obtain advantage in a civil matter
  • Assisted non-attorney in the illegal practice of law
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the South Carolina Supreme punished Hattie by gifting her with another complimentary reprimand.

 

Hattie’s 2ndbite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 

  • Failed to properly supervise office staff
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Conduct demonstrated unfitness to practice law

As a consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the South Carolina Supreme punished Hattie by gifting her with another complimentary reprimand.
