Re:    Misconduct of Gov. Bob as to violations of:

  1. DR 1-102(3) engaging in illegal conduct involving moral turpitude

  2. DR 1-102(4) conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit and misrepresentation

  3. DR 1-102(5) conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

  4. DR 1-102(6) conduct that adversely reflects on lawyer's fitness to practice law

Dear Mr. Marshall:

As you know, Mr. Taft was recently found guilty of four criminal misdemeanors for filing false annual financial disclosure statements (2001-1004) involving 58 instances wherein he knowingly concealed gifts he received from persons doing business with the state.  It is undisputed that Taft engaged in dishonest, fraud, deceit and misrepresentation in filing false disclosure statements, conduct that clearly involves moral turpitude and adversely reflects on his fitness to practice law.

It also appears that Taft knowingly engaged in obstruction of justice by falsely asserting that he did not know that Tom Noe had received $50 million from the Bureau of Workers' Compensation.  In fact, Mr. Noe and his attorney have in effect called Mr. Taft a liar.

It certainly appears that Mr. Taft was involved in a massive pay-to-play scheme.  I would invite you to review an article titled "Should convicted criminal Governor Bob Taft resign?" which you will find under "Ohio Reporter" on my website as to Taft's conduct.

Taft's egregious misconduct demands that his license be suspended and/or that he be permanently disbarred.  To do anything less would make a mockery of the suspensions meted out to lesser beings by the Ohio Supreme Court.

Please provide me with a copy of Mr. Taft's response.
