Judge Donald M. Mosley of Las Vegas: lifetime porker and loser

The state of Nevada presented Donald M. Mosley with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from Tulsa University Law School.

In 1979 Donald Mosley succeeded in duping the voters in Clark County into electing him to a seat on the District Court. Donald has continued to have his significant snout implanted in the Clark County trough for the last 33 years (1973-2012). After receiving his law license in 1977 Don the Porker worked as a deputy Las Vegas city attorney until 1979 when he ascended to the bench.

While sitting on the bench, the Judicial Commission found Donnie guilty of the following misconduct:
  1. Improper use of court stationary for personal purposes
  2. Engaging in unlawful ex parte conversation with long-time friend Barbara Orcutt concerning the arrest and release of a personal friend of Barbara’s
  3. Released a prisoner per an ex parte request from an attorney friend without notifying the DA and w/o requiring the standard of proof required by law
  4. Held ex parte communications in chambers with attorney Catherine Ann Woolf re: sentencing of her client when the DA wasn’t present or notified in advance
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits and aspiring standup comedians sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Donnie by gifting him with a so-called “strongly worded censure.” I hear tell that “strongly worded censures” are particularly painful in comparison to “weakly worked censures.”

As we speak (ca. May 2012) Don continues to sit on the bench in Clark County.
