Judge Barbara Buchanan of Sandpoint, ID; incompetent boob  

The state of Idaho presented Barbara Ann Buchanan with a law license in 1983 after she graduated from the University of Idaho School of Law.

In one matter, Judge Buchanan presided over a case involving Jefri and Debbie Davis vs. Coldwell Banker and Charles Tuma wherein the Davis’ sued for fraud and constructive fraud after they learned that the road they believed provided access to their home, did no tin fact do so.

In a display of her infinite ignorance and incompetence, Judge Buchanan granted summary judgment to Tuma and Caldwell Banker. She also denied the Davis’ motion to amend their complaint and did so without explanation of the reasoning behind said decision.

Shortly thereafter, the Davis’ appealed Judge Buchanan’s moronic dismissal of their claims to the Idaho Court of Appeals. In reversing Judge Buchanan’s rulings, the Court stated in part as follows.

• “The district court abused its discretion in denying the Davises’ motion to amend their Complaint.”
• “The district court did not articulate the relevant legal standard for evaluating a motion to amend a complaint.”
• “The district court provided one sentence for its reasoning in denying the motion to amend the complaint.”
• “A lower court abuses its discretion when it does not provide sufficient reasoning and analysis for this Court to review. (denial of motion to amend complaint)
• “A lower court’s failure to correctly identify and apply the relevant law is an abuse of discretion.”
• “For the reasons stated, we reverse the district court’s order granting summary judgment against the Davises on their fraud and constructive fraud claims, and vacate the order denying the Davises’ motion to amend their complaint.”

It goes without saying that Barb doesn’t much give a damn when she’s overturned (rebuked in truth) by the appellate court since she is well aware that no Idaho  judge has ever been tossed off the bench for being an incompetent boob. In addition, she isn’t concerned with the cost to the taxpayers of having his asinine ruling overturned.

As we speak (ca. August 2020), Barb continues to sit as District Court Judge in Sandpoint, Idaho.
