Former Judge Aleene Ortiz-White of Thornton, CO: Cheerleader for Attorney Felons

The state of Colorado provided Aleene Ortiz-White with a law license in 1974 after she graduated from the Seattle University School of Law.

FYI: From 1989 thru 2013, Aleene was a Denver County court judge.

In one matter, Aleene was a member of a hearing board that was formed to consider the application of attorney Nick Avila Jr. of Denver who was convicted of receipt of and possession of cocaine, forgery and conspiracy to have his law license reinstated.

For additional information on the criminal conduct that Avila committed, view the URL at the end of this article.

Prior to applying for reinstatement, Nicky the Felon spent eight (8) years in prison.

Unbelievably, Aleene voted to reinstate Nicky’s law license despite his criminal record. Apparently, Aleene was of the firm belief that Nicky had a constitutional right in Colorado to earn a dishonest living practicing law.

And lastly, you can be assured that neither Aleene, the Colorado State Bar or the Colorado Supreme Court will take any steps to assure that Nicky is required to post a warning on his office door detailing the crimes he was convicted of committing.

As we speak (ca. August 2020), Aleene practices her brand of law with David Wayne Givens PC at 90 West 84th Avenue in Thornton, Colorado.
