Judge Fenton Delaney of Phoenix, AZ; ethical gnome

The Arizona Commission on Judicial Conduct found Fenton guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to disqualify himself when disqualification was mandatory
• Failed to act in manner that promotes public confidence in the independence, integrity, and impartiality of the judiciary
• Failed to avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety
• Failed to require order and decorum in proceedings before the court
• Failed be patient, dignified, and courteous to litigants, jurors, witnesses, lawyers, court staff, court officials, and others with whom he dealt with in an official capacity

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Fenton by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. December 2018), Fenton continues to sit as a pro tem Justice of the Peace of the Maricopa Lower Jurisdiction Courts in Phoenix, Arizona.
