Judge Gregory Schatz of Omaha; ethical misfit

The state of Nebraska presented Steven J. Cahill with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from Creighton University Law School.

In November 2000, Gregory succeeded in duping the voters in the greater Omaha area into electing him as a District Court Judge.

The Nebraska Judicial Commission found Judge Schatz guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Douglas decided it was acceptable to use his judicial authority to have Omaha attorney Michael Davlin released from an Omaha jail without posting the required bond in August 2012.

Davlin had driven into a tree and was arrested on suspicion of driving drunk (DUI). Davlin’s girlfriend, Douglas County Court Clerk Leslie Douglas, called Judge Schatz and asked him to help.

Subsequently, Davlin was found guilty of misdemeanor third-offense DUI and sentenced to 30 days in jail and had his driver’s license revoked for two years.

As we speak (ca. May 2014), Danny practices with Nightingale Law at 210 Grant Street in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
