The state of Michigan presented Michael J. Haley with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from Loyola University Law School in Chicago.

 

The Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

 

  • Failed maintain high standards of conduct
  • Engaged in irresponsible or improper conduct that eroded public confidence in judiciary
  • Misconduct involved impropriety and appearance of impropriety
  • Improperly acceptance of gift from donor whose interests have come or likely to come before him
  • Engaged in conduct contrary to justice, ethics, honesty or good morals
  • Accepted 2 tickets to Univ. of Michigan football game in exchange for lenient sentence

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

 

As we speak (ca. October 2014), Mike remains sitting as a District Court Judge in Traverse City, Michigan.
